Too much food
Sunday, March 22nd, 2009In the end, we had to leave Kuala Lumpur because we were being fed too well. Our hosts loved to show us all the different types of food available, so we often found ourselves eating and eating and eating. The food was great, and we were delighted to experience it all, but now we need to get back on the bikes and work off all the extra calories!
Here are some pictures with names and brief descriptions for some of the yummy treats:
- Popiah filling and Lettuce wrap
- Ulam (Malaysian salad) with rice
- Lui Cha (Hakka dish, "thunder tea" – vegetarian dish, vegetable broth poured over rice, nuts, vegetables and seaweed)
- Noodle soup with shredded chicken
- Beef (Goat?) Rendang, Nasi Lemak and Mango Salad
- Roast duck
- Hokkien Mee (Hokkien style noodles)
- Cantonese fried noodle
- Choy (green vegetable) with oyster sauce, deep-fried shallots
- Prawns
- Steamed fish – eyeballs included!
- Scott looking doubtfully at the fish eyeball
- That fish eye tasted just a bad as I thought it would
